Mission's Sub-1 takes a 41 3/4" string and 20 3/4" cables; the Sub-1 XR takes a shorter 39 3/4" string and 19 1/2" cables - the two are not interchangeable.

Signs a String Needs Replacing
Look for fraying or fuzzing along the serving, strands that have gone flat, or serving that has started to shift or unwind. A string that has visibly stretched will also drop your speed and move your point of impact. Wax the string regularly - waxing one that's already frayed only hides the problem. Always re-sight after restringing, since a new string settles in over the first several shots.
