Mission Crossbow History

Mission's crossbow lineup has moved through several generations - from the MXB series (MXB-360, MXB-400, MXB-320) and models like the Dagger and Sniper Lite, to the current Sub-1 family that most searches are about today.

From MXB to Sub-1

Mission's older MXB-era crossbows are still widely owned - several forum posts describe MXB-360 units still in active use a decade or more after purchase. The brand's current Sub-1, Sub-1 XR and Sub-1 Lite lineup replaced the MXB series as Mission's primary crossbow offering. See the MXB series and the Sub-1 for details on each era.

A Past Recall

At least one older MXB-series model was the subject of a safety recall over an unexpected-fire hazard, per forum discussion at the time. If you own an older Mission and aren't sure whether it was affected, check with a Mission dealer directly rather than relying on a forum thread alone. For current known issues, see Mission crossbow problems.
